Scunthorpe Dynamite

We are a match fishing team based in Scunthorpe helped by the sponsorship of dynamite baits.

We have a mix of ages and experiences and pride ourselves on the fact we are all local to the area we represent.

Although we have been building the team over the last 6 years we have been competing in major events over the last 3 years as a team.

We currently fish in 2 main events in our calendar which are Paul Caygills ‘Happy league’ which is mainly based on the Aire and Calder and New junction canal throughout the summer. We currently reside in div 2 in this summer league, out of 3 divisions. The other main event is the winter league fished 6 weeks leading up to Xmas on our local river Ancholme.

Over the last 2 years we have also competed in the commercial national held at lindholme lakes.

We began fishing the ‘Happy league’ 2 years ago in preparation for the Division 2 National which was to be fished on these 2 venues that year. All the hours we put in on the canal payed off with us gaining promotion to the Div 1 National for 2018.

This year was our first year in the Div 1 National which was to be held on the mighty river Trent (non tidal). Our aim was to stay in the division and we achieved that. We were so desperate to stay in Div 1 as the 2019 National next year is to be held on the Aire and Calder and New junction canal which all the team knows so well now having fished it for what will be the past 3 seasons by the time the national arrives. We are of course fishing against teams such as Barnsley blacks, Daiwa Dorking etc so our aim to be in the top ten out of 45 plus teams will be difficult.

We are currently spending time on the river Ancholme in preparation for the winter league which starts Sunday 11th Nov.

We would like to thank Dynamite baits for their support over the last few years and hope this relationship will continue.
