Fishery Temp closure. 14/7/22

Important Notice.
Following on from our earlier bulletins with regard to high air and water temperature warnings.
After due consideration all our fisheries are to be closed to anglers from this Sunday 0600hrs to following Wednesday 0600hrs. Signs will be placed at various access points.
However, in addition, there’s an early forecast of thunderstorms, etc for Wednesday which following on from the extreme heat can also be detrimental to fish welfare, so we will review this decision on Tuesday.
The combination for access through our gates will be changed for this period and we will ask bailiffs to do periodic patrols to ask those who may be fishing to leave our premises. And given the number of locks stolen off the Black Bank gate in recent weeks the farmer has kindly suggested he puts a tree trunk in front of the gate!
We will today bring in contingency plans at Yaddlethorpe Ponds (where the fish density per pond is our highest) to aerate the individual ponds. This information will be given to the tackle shops to pass around and if you could pass by word of mouth to those who may miss these messages for whatever reason.
We thank you for your understanding and help during this period.
